    Emotion Maps

ken.jpgI can't believe this hasn't received more attention, but Corante's Brain Waves recently picked up on research being done by Christian Nold, a London-based artist who is combining a GPS receiver with a Galvanic Skin Response sensor to get a picture of the emotional map of a location. The results--which he calls Biomapping-- are stunning, and the implications could be interesting as well for marketers, urban planners and surely others interested in how people respond emotionally to the landscape around themselves -- from excitement in a commercial district to anxiety at a busy crossing to tranquility in a country setting. The map here is of London's tony Kensington borough, full of money, advertising and luxury. Find out more from the Observer article from April.

This article is so fascinating! It was just too good not to share with the New York City real estate community, which I did on my blog Condo Buzz NYC. Thanks much.
